Making sense of the climate change debate

The heat is on.

Global warming, a symptom of climate change has become the hot topic of 2009.Ladies in Swimwear

Nothing Interesting took a  roam around the web and discovered huge differences of opinion as to the cause, effects and even if it actually exists.

You simply cannot get away from the constant arguments about whether greenhouse gas emmissions and carbon foot prints (don’t mention the fellow with the pencil legs) are causing climatic changes resulting in global warming that is having far reaching effects around the world.

Even planning a holiday now requires consideration.  Much is written about the impact of flying on the planet and niche markets are opening up to promote ecotourism - followed by the inevitable ecotourism awards.

Initiatives to offset carbon emmissions are being set up to help ease the pain of adding to global warming and the resulting catastrophes that are forecast. You can make a donation to organisations that are working to reduce greenhouse gasses. As well as giving a charity donation you can sponsor one of the many events during Earth Week - check out this justgiving page for climate change

Even simple car hire firms are bidding for business for those searching for eco car hire. How these marketing people can keep a straight face beggars belief.  There is a fair case for suggesting that those thatonly drive occasionally would do better both environmentally and finacially if they were tohire a car on the occassions they needed to travel. This would be especially relevant for those living in large cities that are well served by public transport such as London in the UK and major cities in Europe. Car hire is also an affordable way to check out different vehicles if you are thinking about buying a new model and comparing cars.

You can lend your suppor to the upcoming Put People First campaign rally by signing up the the G20 rally where you are asked to stomp your feet for the G20 leaders who are meeting at the G20 London summit on 2nd April.

So if you have nothing interesting on first weekend in April get involved.
