It’s been a month of doom and gloom for the UK economy. With tens of thousands of uk jobs lost alone, its looking to be one of the grimmest on record. The epic rise of supermarkets has seen the demise of many high street retailers, the biggest being Woolworths, which hosted over 25,000 uk jobs. So its big news, although hardly surprising, that Asda haveĀ announced that they plan to create 7000 uk jobs this year. A claim that at a time like this is more about advertising than it is about helping the economy. The positive press could enduce a increase in footfall that is enough to cover the cost of the new staff. Well played Asda. How will Tesco’s and Sainsbry’s respond?
