Do conservatries work out to be a good investment?

I have been think lately about adding a conservatry to our home, and got to thinking about how much it could add to the price of the house. But what about the reported drop in house prices at the moment? My thoughts are that thought adding a conservatory to your home will in no doubt add value, will that gain be reduced if the current housing martey continues to decline.

I know that the housing market is not exactly crashing, but there has been a downward trend to house prices this year. I would be very interested in hearing peoples appinouns on this subject.

Though, on the subject of conservatories, i have been looking around and found some lovely different designs on the Anglian site, i think i might look into a local distributer.

i think the effect is not significant.

Conservatories definitely add value to your property. If you click on this link http://www.theconservatoryoutlet.co.uk/conservatories_whychoose.php then it is suggested that a conservatory will add at least 5% to the value of a home.

The current real estate market is crashing. Financial companies are projected to loose $1 trillion because of the mortages they invested in. Wall Street is laying of 20% of their employees. A conservatry would add value, but only to the price that your house would be worth now anyways. If you are looking to add significant value to sell; make sure you bathroom and kitchens are updated (appliances and fixtures), and things like that.

And to add on, the housing market is expected to bottom out in 2-3 years. In other words… if you’re looking to sell; you probably shouldn’t. If you rent and are looking to buy; wait another year or two and you’ll get great deals.
