New pistons

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Well, keeping up the car theme, i happy to say that the pistons i ordered two and a half weeks ago arrived yesterday from Gwerks , took a little longer then i’d have hoped, but they are awesome, well worth the wait and the £490 price tag. I can’t really say a bad thing against Gwerks, Darren and Rob are always helpful and really friendly, highly recommended for anyone with a VW.

Anyway, i have my new wossner 82.5mm pistons and the block is now in the expert hands of the people down at auto parts and spares in Exeter for re boring. This should be done by tomorrow and then the real fun begins.

I didn’t take any pics of the pistons, but heres one from online

I will update the blog with any progress after the weekend.

Cheers

Due to having to comppetely rebuild the engine in my new car (Corrado G60) i haven’t found much time to come on here and randomly babble about rubbish for a while, so i’d though i’d sneek in a little post with some random thoughts in it.

First off, since i have already mentioned the rebuild that i am doing at the moment, heres a link to a forum thread with what happened, why, who, what, where and when. Its too dam long to post up in here, so you’ll have to look ther. To cut a long story short, all i need now is my new £500 pistons to be delivered, then bored the engine block to the correct size, then throw it all back together. should be fun lol.

Secondly, as i seem to mumble about Audi’s alot in this blog, i thought i’d mention that after not seeing a new Audi A5 on the road since their launch, i saw one for the first time last week, and then randomly on the weekend saw a Audi S5 too. So it seems that someone has bought one after all lol. Tbh the A5 wasn’t anything too special, but the S5 looked awesome, and with that V8 up front sounded amazing. Now all i need to do is to find the 40k price tag from somewhere… lol.

And now, for my last though, something completely random. Yesterday i watched a documentary called “the war on science” which covered the theory of Intelligent Design, and its battle against dawins theory of evolution. The documentary was very interesting, and explains both sides of the argument. One fact stated in the film that interested and shocked me was that US schools were still teaching the story of creation from genesis until 1987, when by law they had to change to teach darwinisum instead. That amazed me, considering that darwin published his book on evoution all the way back in 1859, and that the most powerful country in the world was not teaching it to their children. What does everyone else think of this??

I think thats about it for now.

Cheers.
